Kurzfassung
Am 9.Februar 2026 jährt sich der Geburtstag des Hofmathematikers Johann Jakob von Marinoni, des Schöpfers des Mailänder Katasters und des Begründers der Ingenieur-Akademie in Wien, zum 350. Mal. Dieser Beitrag nimmt das Jubiläum zum Anlass, die Persönlichkeit des Urhebers dieser Institutionen im Spiegel seiner Schriften zu beschreiben. Bei seinem Tod 1755 hinterlässt Marinoni eine große Sammlung an mathematischer, geographischer, geodätischer, astronomischer, architektonischer und sonstiger Fachliteratur sowie handschriftliche Aufzeichnungen und Briefe, deren Schicksal dieser Beitrag nachgehen will. Außerdem interessiert auch der Verbleib seiner wissenschaftlichen Instrumente und kunstvollen Landkarten.

Abstract
February 9th, 2026, marks the 350th anniversary of the birth of court mathematician Jacopo de Marinoni, the creator of the Milan Cadastre and the founder of the Engineering Academy in Vienna. This article takes the anniversary as an opportunity to describe the personality of the inventor of these institutions, reflected in his writings. Upon his death in 1755 Marinoni leaves an extensive collection of specialised literature in the fields of mathematics, surveying, astronomy, architecture, etc., as well as manuscripts and letters, the fate of which this article wants to pursue. Furthermore, the whereabouts of his scientific instruments and his exquisite maps are of interest.
